It was fatsos on parade through Dove Valley today, as the Tim Duckworth era gave way to the Mark Fenton epoch. From the Broncos website:
The Broncos continued adding rookies to the roster Monday afternoon by announcing the signing of two undrafted players, including former Colorado center Mark Fenton.

Fenton and Virginia Tech kicker Brandon Pace join four other undrafted rookies signed last week.

The team also announced the release of offensive lineman Tim Duckworth, who was brought in as an undrafted free agent last Wednesday.

Oh man. Allow me to be serious for a minute- this Tim Duckworth move is pretty devastating. As soon as I got home, I looked through my Tim Duckworth scrapbook, which is where I keep all of my most special Tm Duckworth memories from his Broncos days. I've got the press release announcing his signing, and I've got... um, okay so it's not a very big scrapbook, but it's not the size that matters, it's the motion of the ocean. Or something like that. I'm not really positive of the exact words, because some girl was trying to get me to stop crying.

Obviously the biggest news today was the signing of Mark Fenton, because it adds yet another feather in my cap of rookies I told the Broncos front office to acquire. My strategy of sending very serious thought rays to Shanahan is working, so I'm pleased. And yes, a great majority of my picks are former CU Buffs. All I'm saying is, don't be surprised if Dave McCloughan ends up holding for field goals or something. You can thank me later.

By the by, in looking for a link to Dave McCloughan, I came across this Denver Post article, which makes me nostalgic. It's also very wrong, since there's only two Mullen Mustangs, when obviously there should be like a thousand.

McCloughan was nice back in the day with the Buffs. I believe he's in someone's front office these days.
