Stupid ugly Rat-faced Mike Shanahan did the unthinkable yesterday, cutting my favorite player, fullback Kyle Johnson. I'm 100% positive he did this just to spite me. What other excuse is there for cutting your starting fullback in favor of keeping someone called Andre Hall? Paul Smith? Didn't play much, didn't impress at all. Cecil Sapp? Tried him at fullback last year, and he wasn't any good. Kyle Johnson? 2 years ago was rated as Paul Zimmerman's All Pro fullback, last year was rated as the third best fullback in the NFL by someone from sportsline.com. He's on the street. That's why Shanahan's the coaching mastermind, and the personnel simple mind.

Other notable cuts included Jimmy Kennedy, for whom we paid a draft pick, and Big Money favorites Greg Eslinger and Darrell Hackney. the latter 2 are eligible for the practice squad.

Cuts from around the league include Aaron Glenn, Byron Leftwich, Keenan McCardell, Jared Zabransky, Donovin Darius, and Jeremy Bloom. Kicker Dave Rayner was released by the Packers, meaning Mason Crosby has won that job. Still, a black cloud hangs over the Valgus household, like the Dark Mark hanging over Hogwarts. Christ that was nerdy.

Do not give up hope yet. I think Mike Bell is going to get traded. Andre Hall deserves to be on the practice squad. He can not be on the roster all year as the #4 back, Can he?

Personnel simple mind? The same simple mind that brought in Henry, Graham, Stokely, Bly, and possibly Simeon Rice? I realized that you are pissed that he cut your favorite player but get over it. He has still vastly improved the team over the offseason.

how good of a talent evaluator do you need to be to throw money at big name veterans? Those names aren't exactly diamonds in the rough.

OK then, how about Brandon Marshall, Elvis Dumervil, Terrell Davis, Matt Lepsis or Mike Bell? Those were some good diamonds in the rough.

Marshall is a work in progress, unless you want to call his 20 catches last year as a victory.

Davis, Lepsis, Anderson- all good calls.

But I can trump those with Nash, Middlebrooks, and Lelie. I called for Dumervil in the 4th round, so Shanahan gets no credit for doing what he should do.

Mike Bell is a product of the system. Everyone knows it. He's not good. For the record- I called Selvin Young as an undrafted free agent. Check the archives for the proof.

The fact is- Denver was most successful by winning the salary cap battle- Zimmerman, Schlereth, Tony Jones, Howard Griffith, Neil Smith, Alfred Williams, Ray Crockett... these are all players Denver signed because they were cut for salary cap reasons. We were good at managing the cap. We're no longer ahead of the game.

so where is the Shanahan genius? It doesn't exist.

oh- I'll also give up Ed McCaffrey. He was a great pickup

He might not be a personnel genius but he is certainly no fool. And you have to remember, he cut the FULLBACK. He didn't cut Champ Bailey. Fullback is probably the easiest position to replace.
